Abstract

International trade is the activity of exchanging goods or services across countries based on mutual agreement through export and import activities, and one of the countries that is Indonesia's trading partner is China. To be able to enter a foreign market, of course, requires a product that has high competitiveness. For this reason, it is necessary to know the strength of competitiveness of Indonesian products which have been exported to the Chinese market. The purpose of this study is to analyze competitiveness, market position, and to find out what sectors need to be encouraged during 2015-2019. The data used are secondary data with annual periods. Based on the RCA results, there are only 34 out of 97 product sectors that have a comparative advantage or an average RCA value of more than one. And based on the EPD results, most of Indonesia's export products do not have a competitive advantage in China, because there are 40 out of 97 product sectors that are in a reatreat position, which means that there is a decline in the export market share in that product sector
