Islamic communication plays an important role in fostering harmony and addressing socio-ecological challenges in plural societies. This study aims to describe Islamic communication strategies in strengthening religious moderation and social-environmental awareness in Desa Raya, Berastagi District, Karo Regency. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of community engagement activities carried out by students. Data analysis followed Miles & Huberman’s interactive model, including data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Islamic communication strategies for religious moderation were implemented through educational seminars, interfaith tolerance declarations, joint prayers, and tree planting as a symbol of unity. Meanwhile, social-environmental awareness was fostered through eco-brick education, installation of waste disposal signs, community clean-ups, elderly exercise, as well as religious services and children’s education. The integration of both aspects occurred through dakwah bil hal, which combined persuasive, symbolic, and participatory messages. The study concludes that Islamic communication in Desa Raya was not limited to verbal preaching but was embodied in concrete actions that strengthened interfaith harmony while raising ecological awareness within the community
Isran Rasyid Karo-KaroMahathir Muhammad HutasuhutAlfiansyah BorotanDwi AndiniNurmawaty HasugianSiska Amelia

The development of da'wah in the digital era has brought significant changes in the methods and strategies of delivering religious messages. This study analyzes the transformation of digital da'wah, the role of social media as a space for visual da'wah, and the contribution of AI-based graphic design in supporting the effectiveness of da'wah communication. The results show that digitalization has expanded the reach of da'wah through platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook, allowing messages to be disseminated quickly, widely, and interactively. Da'wah is no longer limited to physical spaces but has evolved into a creative, adaptive virtual activity that can be accessed anytime. AI-based graphic design plays an important role in supporting the presentation of visual da'wah. AI technology can automate the design process, generate modern visuals, and maintain aesthetic consistency, making it easier for preachers and content creators to produce high-quality da'wah materials. AI characteristics such as automation, generative capabilities, precision, and personalization enable da'wah messages to be delivered in an engaging, concise, and easily understood manner for the digital community, especially the younger generation. Meanwhile, social media serves as a strategic visual da'wah space, facilitating the dissemination of content based on images, videos, infographics, and illustrations. Visualization has been proven to increase the appeal and effectiveness of messages, while also opening up two-way communication between the preacher and the audience. However, this development also presents challenges, such as the risk of religious misinformation, commercialization of da'wah, and dependency on AI technology. Overall, the integration of digital da'wah, social media, and AI-based graphic design provides great opportunities for spreading Islamic values in a more creative, effective, and relevant way to the communication style of modern society. With wise utilization based on Sharia values, technology can become an important means to strengthen preaching that is informative, inclusive, and a mercy to all worlds
IlhamRazak Al Hamsi SiraitNur HasanahCahaya Ariska SitompulSuci Rahmitha

https://jurnal.iuqibogor.ac.id/index.php/at-tawasul/article/view/2407

YouTube has evolved into a digital platform that influences various sectors of social life. However, academic studies in Indonesia still tend to examine its impacts in a fragmented and sector-specific manner. This study aims to synthesize previous research findings in order to understand YouTube’s cross-sectoral role in education, social life, politics, and the economy in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach using an integrative literature review method, drawing on accredited national journal articles and reputable international journals published between 2018 and 2025. The findings indicate that YouTube functions as a digital social infrastructure that expands access to learning, facilitates identity expression and alternative public spheres, shapes attention-driven political communication, and supports the growth of a content-based creative economy. Nevertheless, the literature also highlights structural risks, including gaps in digital literacy, social polarization, political disinformation, and inequality among content creators, all of which are interconnected through algorithmic mechanisms and the attention economy. This study contributes conceptually by proposing a cross-sectoral analytical framework that links algorithms, attention, and monetization as the central mechanisms of YouTube-driven digital social transformation, while also offering implications for strengthening digital literacy and media policy in Indonesia.
Eva Riyanty LubisLola Sapriani HasibuanAhmad Sultoni MatondangRosmayani RambeSholeh Fikri

This study discusses the role of TikTok as a social media platform that influences changes in the fields of education, society, and politics within contemporary digital culture. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research explores how TikTok serves as a new space for creative learning, digital identity formation, and participatory political communication. The findings reveal that TikTok functions as a visual learning medium that bridges the gap between formal education and the learning style of younger generations. Socially, the platform fosters the emergence of digital communities and fluid new identities while also presenting ethical challenges such as viral culture and social pressure. In the political sphere, TikTok transforms public communication patterns into more emotional and image-based forms, requiring a more critical level of digital literacy. Therefore, digital literacy becomes the key to ensuring that TikTok is utilized for empowerment rather than mere entertainment
Deby Indah Armayanti PasaribuNurul Mursida SiregarRika Amelia PulunganSiti Arbiyah NasutionSholeh Fikri

CV Mitra Kanopi is a construction company that utilizes Instagram as a digital marketing communication platform to reach consumers, build trust, and increase service demand. This study aims to analyze the digital marketing communication strategy implemented through the Instagram account @kanopi_murah and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The research method used is qualitative, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis employs the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which includes three main stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The theoretical framework refers to Kotler and Keller’s digital marketing concept, specifically Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC). The results show that the digital communication strategy has been quite effective through five key elements: advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations, and direct marketing. The success of the strategy is supported by attractive visual content, fast and responsive service, and optimal use of Instagram’s features. Challenges faced include limited human resources to consistently manage the account and difficulties in keeping up with rapidly changing social media trends. Future research is recommended to explore the effectiveness of digital communication strategies across multiple platforms
Tata SantikaAmalliahCindya Yunita Pratiwi

https://jurnal.iuqibogor.ac.id/index.php/at-tawasul/article/view/2591

The development of Society 5.0 marks a fundamental shift in how society produces, disseminates, and interprets political and da'wah messages. Digital technology fosters the formation of an intense two-way communication space, where interactions between political actors and the public take place more directly through social media. This phenomenon strengthens the political participation of the younger generation and accelerates the flow of information, but simultaneously raises the risk of polarization, misinformation, and manipulation of public perception. These dynamics are further complicated by the frequent intrusion of identity politics and the use of religious symbols into political communication. Digital da'wah is also undergoing a transformation: religious messages are disseminated massively and rapidly, but are vulnerable to being drawn into specific political interests. Therefore, the management of da'wah and political communication requires a more ethical and adaptive approach to ensure that technology serves to strengthen humanitarian values, religious moderation, and democratic integrity. Harmonious integration between da'wah, politics, and technology is crucial so that the digital space becomes not merely an arena for contestation of interests, but also a vehicle for public education and strengthening social governance
