Abstract

Self-confidence affects a person's ability to communicate and interact with others. Intensity is a person's activity related to feelings that will be carried out repeatedly. A person's pleasure in using Instagram social media allows a person to carry out various activities on Instagram. This study aims to determine the relationship and direction of the intensity of the use of social media Instagram with the level of confidence in active students of KPI IUQI Bogor. This research is a descriptive statistical research with a correlational approach. The population of this study were 109 active students of KPI IUQI Bogor, and the sample used was 27 students with active Instagram user criteria and aged 17-20 years. The results showed that the intensity of the use of social media Instagram had a significant relationship with the level of confidence of the Bogor IUQI KPI students based on the results of the correlation test of the significance value or sig. (2-tailed) of 0.005. Because the sig. (2-tailed) 0.002 <less than 0.05, it means that there is a significant relationship between the intensity of the use of Instagram social media and the level of self-confidence with a strong level of closeness and a negative direction between the two variables
