IMPLEMENTASI DISIPLIN POSITIF DALAM PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA DI SD GARUT ISLAMIC SCHOOL PRIMA INSANI

Abstract
The learning atmosphere in schools shapes character and determines students' learning success. Positive discipline is an approach to creating a conducive learning atmosphere. This study describes the strategy and implementation of positive discipline at SD Garut Islamic School Prima Insani. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The study results indicate that positive discipline can be implemented by adopting the Welas Asih Positive Discipline Model. The model consists of seven principles: fostering internal awareness, realizing logical consequences, providing support, not rewards, making connections before correcting, understanding, not judging, controlling oneself, and being gentle but firm. The implementation strategy is to collaborate with experienced mentors, involving all elements of school owners, school leaders, teachers, education personnel, employees, and parents of students, and its implementation is carried out gradually and continuously. Some obstacles and factors support the success of the implementation of positive discipline. The final section describes suggestions, research limitations, and directions for further research.
