Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) in elementary schools as a strategy for character education based on Pancasila values. The research background stems from the importance of fulfilling students’ nutritional needs while simultaneously strengthening character education through contextual daily activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the implementation of the MBG program can serve as a medium for shaping students’ character in alignment with Pancasila values. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research through exploration and analysis of various academic sources, policy documents, and relevant previous studies. The results show that the MBG program not only improves students’ nutritional status and learning concentration but also serves as a means of internalizing character values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and gratitude. The communal dining activities at school reflect the implementation of Pancasila values, particularly the third and fifth principles—unity and social justice. In conclusion, the MBG program has the potential to become a holistic and sustainable ecosystem for character education that not only promotes physical well-being but also shapes students’ ethical, civilized, and Pancasila-minded personalities.
