Abstract

Researcher have seen significant disparities between male and female pupils in their ability to overcome challenges throughout the PLP 2 program. Female students have a greater inclination and readiness to actively engage in individual counseling on their own will compared to male students. The objective of this research is to collect empirical data and analyze the disparities in adversity quotient levels among male and female students at SMP Negeri 254 Jakarta during the academic year 2023/2024. This study is quantitative and employs a comparative method. The population consisted of 324 students, from which a sample of 64 individuals was selected using a simple random sampling procedure. The sample included 34 male students and 30 female students from class VIII. The tool used is an adversity quotient scale questionnaire that incorporates the CO2RE components, namely Control, Origin and Ownership, Reach, and Endurance. The data collected were analyzed using IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26, using an independent sample t-test. The data analysis findings indicate that the p-value of 0.791 is more than the significance threshold of 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted, while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected. Consequently, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the degree of adversity quotient between male and female students at SMP Negeri 254 Jakarta. The findings of this research are significant for schools and educators to understand the disparities in adversity quotient between male and female students at SMP Negeri 254 Jakarta. This information may serve as a valuable resource for student management and support
